Still I think the facial expressions really get across how I, and those around me, felt when I first saw Hellboy 2.

PRIMUS, HOW I LOVED THAT MOVIE.

While Dark Knight has railroaded it at the box office, as was to be expected. And while Dark Knight is actually a much better movie, though a drastically different one. I know which one I liked better in my heart.

Dark Knight was about each character by himself, you sensed the isolation of each. When Batman asks the mob boss who the Joker's friends are and the boss replies, "Have you met this guy?" in a way you feel it almost applies to every character. Isolated, even from those they love.

Hellboy was the opposite. It was all about the group and how they worked together. The driving force for the characters wasn't their personal convictions or their ideologies, but defending their friends and doing their jobs. You got a sense for how these people lived day to day, and I would argue that while Dark Knight was "realistic" while Hellboy had "magical" "fantasy" and Sci-fi elements, that Hellboy is more emotionally realistic.

Both movies are swimming in a sea of awesome badassness...tossed by the waves of amazing onto the shores of the bay of incredible to stagger into the town of Leet to buy a beer in the pub of superlatives....

But Hellboy 2 touched my heart....

and my hormones.
